Vegetable-tanned leather

Quality &
sustainability

At Beocca, quality and sustainability aren't marketing terms. They're the principles our whole brand is built on, from selecting the leather to the final stitch.

01
Vegetable-tanned leather

No chrome salts. No synthetic chemicals. Only natural tannins from tree bark and plants.

02
Handmade craftsmanship

Every product is made by hand by craftspeople who have mastered their trade for generations.

03
Longevity as a strategy

The most sustainable product is the one you don't have to replace. Our bags last for decades.

Vegetable-tanned
leather

All our products are made from 100% vegetable-tanned leather. This is one of the oldest and most traditional methods of working leather, using natural tannins from tree bark, leaves and fruits.

The process takes weeks to months, instead of the hours that chrome tanning requires. The result: leather that is sturdier, more characterful and more environmentally friendly.

Patina: leather that grows more beautiful

One of the most beautiful properties of vegetable-tanned leather is the formation of a patina, a natural sheen and deepening of colour that arises through use, touch and exposure to light. Unlike chrome-tanned leather, which looks worn after years of use, vegetable-tanned leather actually grows more beautiful as it ages.

Unique to each piece

Because we don't treat our leather with a chemical or synthetic finish, every hide retains its natural features. Small variations in colour, texture and grain are not only normal, they're proof that your product is made from real, untreated leather. No two Beocca products are exactly the same.

Beocca, our philosophy

Sustainability
from start to finish

At Beocca, sustainability goes beyond the material alone. We look at the entire process, from production to packaging.

Conscious production

Our products are made in small, specialised workshops where craft comes first. We produce in smaller batches rather than mass production, which reduces waste and allows us to guarantee the quality of each individual product.

By not going along with the cycle of seasonal fashion and constant renewal, we create products that are timeless, designs that don't date after one season.

Packaging

We pack our products carefully but without unnecessary materials. We strive to keep our packaging as compact and environmentally friendly as possible, without compromising on protecting your product during transport.

Made
by people

All Beocca products are made by hand by experienced craftspeople who have mastered their trade for generations. This manual process is essential to the quality we pursue.

Every bag is finished personally. The stitching is carefully placed, the edges neatly finished and the hardware firmly attached. This level of attention is something machine production simply can't match — the result is a product in which you can feel the care, from the moment you first pick it up.
