Vegetable-tanned leather

Quality &
materials

Explore the materials and techniques we use, how leather changes with wear and how to care for a bag.

01
Vegetable-tanned leather

Tanned with plant-derived tannins from sources such as bark and leaves instead of chromium salts.

02
Handcrafted quality

Every product is handmade by artisans whose skills have been passed down through generations.

03
Use and care

How long a bag lasts depends on its construction, use and care.

Vegetable-tanned
leather

For the leather parts of our products, we use vegetable-tanned leather. Some models combine leather with other materials. This tanning method uses plant-derived tannins from sources such as bark and leaves instead of chromium salts.

The leather's properties also depend on the hide, finishing and care. Tanning alone does not determine the total environmental impact of a bag.

Patina: leather that grows more beautiful

Vegetable-tanned leather can develop a patina with use: a change in sheen or colour. Its appearance depends on the leather, finish, light and care.

Every piece is unique

Leather may show small variations in colour, texture and grain. Each product can therefore look slightly different. Check the product page for the composition of a specific model.

Beocca, care tip

Materials and
care

When choosing a bag, we consider materials, construction and use. An environmental comparison requires data across the full life cycle of the products involved.

Production

Our products are handmade in specialist workshops. We pay attention to stitching, edges and fittings.

The designs are intended for use across seasons. Check each product page for materials and dimensions.

Packaging

We package products to protect them in transit. The exact packaging may vary by order.

Made
by people

All Beocca products are handmade by skilled artisans whose craft spans generations. This manual process is essential to the quality we pursue.

Every bag is finished individually. Stitches are carefully placed, edges neatly finished and hardware securely attached. Machine production simply cannot match this attention. You can feel the care from the moment you first pick up the product.
